So I was getting into my car and this bloke says to me: "Can you give me a lift?" I said:

"Sure; you look great, the world's your oyster, go for it."

Thursday July 13th 2006 Coca Cola Nectar

Today I visited the dentist in Chislehurst. As I had to visit the post office as well I walked around Chislehurst instead of walking in the woods.

Walking on cement and tarmac is not as pleasant as walking on the much softer ground of the woods but Chislehurst is an attractive village with both modern and more traditional shops.

There is a shortcut at the top of the hill leading from Chislehurst to Mottingham but a lady had entered the shortcut before me and I did not want to frighten her in case she thought i was following her.

I took the longer route and passed an old shop where I bought some 'light' Coca Cola whatever that is. It tasted good anyway.

I am reminded of the time in 1945 when American soldiers released my family from the concentration camp in China which we had been in for the previous two and a half years. Once of the soldiers kindly gave me a bottle of coca cola and I have been an addict ever since.

After a diet of peanut butter, horse meat and water, the coca cola tasted like nectar.

Tuesday July 18th 2006 Eat And Drink In The Hot Weather

As I entered the woods today I was pleased to meet some of my martial arts students. T and his wife, A and M plus their dog. They said they would meet me at the Thursday class.

I'm surprised so many students are attending in spite of the hot weather. The hall we train in is air conditioned but the way there isn't.

In hot weather we should drink a lot but also eat a fair bit. Liquid tends to flush the salt out of our system unless we eat some food as well.

No one else was in my path as I continued on my way through the woods. The shade makes the current heat wave bearable.

Today might break heat records in the UK. It did!

I am now switching this log or diary over to a blog. You can find this by clicking on the lieft menu of the home page of www.motivationtoday.com. The link is 'blogwood'. There is a new header to the account which I really like and I hope you will.
